In January we welcomed our latest core faculty member Qiang Li and his Postdoctoral Associate Jiahui Wang who come to us from the University of Chicago.  Paul Segars was honored with the IEEE Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society's 2007 Young Investigator Medical Imaging Science Award.  In April Christina Li and Swatee Singh, members of Cerene Biomedics won the Duke Start-Up Challenge in the categories "First Overall Winner" and "Healthcare Track Winner".  In May, Ehsan Samei received the "Excellence in Mentorship Award" for mentoring Medical Physics graduate students at Duke University.  In July, Society of Directors of Academic Medical Physics Programs (SDAMPP) held their first annual meeting.
